What is a Puppy Mill?

Puppy mills are commercial enterprises which breed dogs in significant numbers for profit. Recent Pennsylvania statistics revealed 1,667 licensed commercial kennels with 156,534 kept dogs. Of these kennels, 254 were K-5 licensed to have greater than 251 breeding dogs each.

2008 Marketing Campaign
UAPM has launched its 2008 marketing campaign to raise public awareness about the inhumane conditions that are permitted under current law. Billboards will be placed in multiple locations in Berks and Chester Counties.

HB2525 Rally
  • What: Rally in Support of HB2525
  • When: September 16, 2008 between 12:00 noon and 2:00 PM
  • Where: Behind the Capitol in Harrisburg, by the fountain in Soldier's Grove
  • Who: All Animal Advocates

You are encouraged to visit your Representative immidiately after the rally to ask him or her to vote for HB2525.

Bus transportation has been arranged to the rally:

Bus departs from north side of Lancaster Shopping Center (Lititz Pike / Route 501) at 11:00 AM sharp.

Bus returns to Lancaster at 4:00 PM.

Fee: $10.00 roundtrip, payable in advance to
UAPM, PO Box 7202, Lancaster PA 17604.

Pancakes for Puppies
The first ever Pancakes for Puppies breakfast fundraiser to benefir UAPM will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2008 from 7:30 AM till 11:30 AM at The Pancake Farm, 1032 S. State Street, Ephrata PA. Please see our fundraisers page for all the details.
