Support Our Work

Volunteer

Volunteers are critical to our continued work and success, and are empowered to become effective advocates. Your involvement speaks for thousands of the innocent mistreated Pennsylvania dogs that cannot speak for themselves.

In efforts to effectively bring about change in the commercial dog breeding industry (puppy mills), UAPM's work is directed through three dedicated and distinct groups: zoning, legislation and public awareness. We invite you to explore the functions of each group to determine which best matches your own talents and interests. Please volunteer and help to end the cycle of cruelty today!

If you'd like to help us in any of these areas, please download a volunteer application (PDF format or MS Word format). You can email the filled in form or send it to

UAPM
PO Box 7202
Lancaster, PA 17604

After we receive your volunteer application you will be contacted by our volunteer coordinator. All prospective volunteers must attend a mandatory orientation seminar. Upon successful completion of this session you can choose your area(s) of interest and start receiving UAPM emails.

Thank you!

Your Money at Work
United Against Puppy Mills utilizes many forms of advertising to publicly educate and to bring about change for dogs, and the cost is high. For example, billboards cost approximately $2,000 per month depending on location and size and posters at train stations and on bus routes cost about $1,000 per month. Print ads range from $250 to $1000 per month. Brochure printing averages $600 per 5000 and mass-mailing costs run $3,500 per 10,000 households. Costs to set up a booth at Pet Expos and other events across Pennsylvania range from $50 to $300 each.

Donate Goods and Services
Among other things, we are always in need of postcards, paper, envelopes, printing services, special event posters, signs and banners, UAPM logo merchandise, free office space and office equipment, event-related goods and services. Please contact us to discuss your donation in advance, thanks!

Spread the Word!

A large part of our mission is to educate the public about the places from which far too many dogs come and the conditions that exist in those places. If we are successful, perhaps puppy mills as we know them today will no longer exist.

Help us with this goal by spreading the word far and wide:

*You may order brochures in quantity for handouts or to place in local stores, shops, vet offices, etc (with owner permission). We can provide a brochure holder if needed.
